How to Maintain the Brightest Smile Possible
There are many ways to help maintain a professionally whitened smile. Your eating habits, oral health care habits, and drinking habits can extend the life of your whitening, or they can shorten it. As a best practice, we recommend continuing to be sure to brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day. Throughout the day, if you happen to be eating foods such as blueberries, raspberries, pomegranates, red grapes or cranberries, know that these are foods that can stain your teeth over the course of time. We advise an extra brushing after these foods, or at least rinsing with some water. Other solid foods that would require extra brushing after eating are tomatoes, tomato sauce, beets, ketchup, and dishes that have soy sauce in them. Also, be sure to be mindful when drinking beverages such as coffee, tea and red wine. One way to minimize the effects of beverages that stain your teeth is to drink water between sips these other beverages.
Your Bright Smile Is Long Lasting with the Right Steps
Caring for your whitened smile can maximize the benefits of your investment. It can prolong the whitening for up to three years. On the other hand, you may only see a benefit of six months if you are not attentive to your smile. Doing all you can to maintain your whitening can help make you happy and give you even more reasons to smile.
